2007 Adventure
Those who have visited our web page before will know that in 2005 we spent 6 months living in Dearloves Caravan Park Newman (North West Western Australia) working for a Christian organization called Bush Church Aid (BCA).
Our role there was the pastoral care of the Anglican Minister and his wife during the last 6 months of their ministry in Newman.
It was an amazing experience and the Pilbara will forever be etched on our hearts.
In 2006 we spent twice a month promoting BCA through Deputations to many Anglican churches throughout NSW. We were exposed to many styles of service and some wonderful Friendship groups.
As 2006 was drawing to a close we prayed for God to guide us into what he would have us doing in 2007.
The answered came to serve BCA again in a different role.
We will be traveling to Broome & Derby to run BCA’s Christ for Campers program.
What is Christ for Campers you may well ask?
Our goal is to tell people in caravan parks the word of God and pray that his word will stay with them as they continue their travels.
We will be doing this through holding a Big Breakfast in the Caravan Parks. This will also include a speakerwith a gospel message.
We intend to have a coffee time each day where people can visit and ask more questions or just enjoy the social contact.
Those who know us will know that Ian enjoys serving Fine Coffee which we hope will again be supplied by “Ministry Grounds”.
At the end of the program in Broome we will be having a “Farwell Dinner” with possibly up to 180 people. This will take the form of a Beef and Burgundy night.
Broome will be followed by the same program in the Derby Caravan Parks.
Whilst we are running the program in the north others will be running it in Carnarvon, 80 mile Beach and Kalbarri. All are on the West coast of Australia.
We anticipate being away from home and family for 4 months.
Please pray for us all who will be involved in the various programs also that God will touch the hearts of the people we come into contact with.
